If you missed the first four El Abrazo Tango Trips to Buenos Aires (Nov 2005, Jan 2006, June 2006, January 2007) with Ney Melo and Jennifer Bratt, never fear - the dates for the next one have been set! Come join us for a week of dancing, learning, dining, making friends, shopping and exploring in the mecca of Tango - Buenos Aires Argentina. We will share with you what we love about the city, guide you to the milongas we actually go to ourselves, seat you amongst our friends, bring you to our local restaurants and to the stores we buy our own shoes and clothing at. You will also experience an intensive week-long tango seminar (3 hours daily) with Ney and Jennifer designed to train you to dance in the milongas. This is not a trip for tourists, but for serious dancers who want to spend a week seeing Buenos Aires through our eyes and living like we do as tango addicts! Our focus will be on dancing and learning tango, and having the most fun possible while doing so!

This tour is ideal for dancers who want to immerse themselves in the tango culture of Buenos Aires with laid-back and personable guides who are familiar with the ins and outs of the city, the dance and it's codes.

They have traveled extensively to give special workshops and to teach at the largest tango festivals in the country. We will work on the essentials that everyone needs to enjoy dancing in the milongas of Buenos Aires, such as connection, embrace, timing, and sensitivity.

HOST BIOS:

Ney Melo
"There will never be a step, sequence, or trick in tango that will come close to matching the power of the embrace."
Over the past 5 years Ney has spent over a year cummulatively living in Buenos Aires and immersing himself in the tango culture there. He is familiar with the city's layout and adept at getting around and dealing with the locals. He knows many of the most popular teachers there, having studied extensively with them himself and is friends with a lot of the milonga regulars. Spanish is Ney's mother-tongue. His easy-going nature and friendly personality will make any tour participant feel at ease.

Jennifer Bratt
Jennifer also has spent time living, dancing and studying in Buenos Aires and can offer plenty of advice on everything from following the codes of the milonga to what to wear. She is the author of the popular ASK MALEVA Tango Advice Column, photographer of Close-Embrace.com, and owner of Maleva Shoes. She has 4 years of experience importing the best hard-to-get tango shoes and is the ideal guide for shopping excursions in Buenos Aires!
